LCIF project eligibility criteria

This is as per the following resolution adopted in the 4th Council Meeting - 2005-06. It is resolved that Multiple District 322 shall recommend project to LCIF for Standard grant only if the project fulfills the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Project must either be a District Project or a Club Project with two consecutive years of good standing of membership equal to 20 or more.
  2. Project must be a permanent one, in nature and viable.
  3. There must be a duly registered Trust which shall be responsible for promotion, completion and management of the Project.
  4. There should be a MOU between the Primary Club and the Lions District that if in future Primary Club which is promoting the Project is closed; Lions Clubs International District of the geographical area will be custodian of the Project and its entire property. In such case District Cabinet shall authorize nearby Club or Clubs to lookafter the management of the Project as per the decision of the Cabinet and subsequently passed by the District Convention.
  5. Atleast 40% of the matching money i.e. 10% of the Project cost must be collected by the promoters of the Project and deposited in the Trust Bank Account before it sends Grant Application to the District Cabinet.
  6. Duly filled Grant Application Form alongwith Project report complete in all respect and fulfilling all the above stated criteria and certified copy of updated pass book of the Trust must be submitted to the District Chairperson – LCIF, atleast 15 days prior to the District Cabinet Meeting. The District Chairperson then scrutinize the application in consultation with D.G.
  7. If the application is found correct and in accordance with the above criteria, the District Chairperson – LCIF will place the application in the Cabinet Meeting for discussion and its approval. Thereafter Grant Application shall be sent to MCC and Committee Chairperson – LCIF at least 15 days prior to Multiple Council Meeting. Committee Chairperson shall study the Project and place a summary report of the Project before the Council Members, who shall approve it after required discussion.
